Doggie Day Care
One way to insure a happy and livable pet is plenty of good socialization with other humans and animals. Every dog owner has experienced having to put in an excessively long day at work, running home to let the dog out, and having to then rush right back out to fulfill another commitment. And all the poor dog wants to do is eat and play the rest of the evening! On the other hand, you might have the geriatric dog that just needs a few more walks through the day and possibly may enjoy an appointment for a grooming or a little TLC from daycare. Of course we also need to look at one other factor, the guilt of leaving your dog or new puppy home all day with nothing to do.
We hope to provide a service that will help develop some good behavior patterns in your dog, thereby alleviating some of the concerns you as an owner may have.
Physical exams, vaccinations, grooming and other veterinary care can be scheduled in advance for a daycare event. These arrangements will need to be made through the receptionist.

General Boarding
Our Big Walnut Animal Care Center located in Galena, is designed with a fully-equipped, boarding facility that provides your dogs and cats with a home away from home. We offer the finest accommodations for your animal companions including climate control, private sleeping dens with attached indoor exercise runs and unmatched cleanliness and safety procedures. We provide toys, blankets, feeding bowls and a variety of pet foods, but are happy to following your feeding menu and directions. Our boarders always receive round-the-clock, personal attention. During your pet’s visit, grooming services and pampered T.L.C. packages can also be scheduled, allowing for one-on-one play or cuddle time.
Meeting the highest standards of pet boarding, our dedicated staff will do everything possible to ensure a wonderful experience for both you and your pet.
Special Needs Boarding
If your dog or cat is older or has medical needs that need special attention, we offer a full-service medical boarding facility at our Annehurst/Westerville location. Regular observations and scheduled treatments are routinely performed under the 24-hour care of our specially trained veterinary technicians and assistants. Appetite, attitude, general physical condition as well as medical/trauma conditions are always closely monitored. In the event of a concern, one of our veterinarians will evaluate your pet and contact you with a recommended treatment plan.
